About

Builder. Leader. Product maker.

I'm Dan Pettit, founder of Barefoot Apps. I build polished, opinionated apps for everyday moments: choosing what to play, understanding what is in front of you, remembering what matters, noticing more of a place, or getting back to something physical.

I have spent a long time as a builder and engineering leader, guiding teams through the real work of turning ideas into shipped products. That experience shows up here in the boring-important parts: scope, taste, technical judgment, sequencing, and follow-through.

The studio is intentionally small and product-focused. The public story is the products themselves: Analog DJ, Ricorda, Cocktail Menus, Neighborhood Crawl, and the ideas that will follow.

Barefoot Apps lets me bring the builder and leader parts of my background together: picking the right problem, shaping the product, making the engineering tradeoffs, and keeping the work close enough to the user that it stays honest.

Email is the best place to start. Questions about the apps, notes from people using them, and thoughtful product conversations are all welcome.

App conversations

I occasionally help with focused app ideas when the fit is real: a concrete problem, a thoughtful scope, and a bias toward shipping something useful.
